Clearly us getting back together in the practice room sparked something up in everyone because after a subdued however many weeks blurring into one, doings are suddenly afoot. Festive doings! After a couple of evenings in the practice room this week and then writing stuff around that, we've been recording all this weekend. Even by our standards, shit has been popping off. Somewhat typical of a collective involving various levels of neurospiciness, there has been no forethought gone into this current plan.
Basically, even though we'd otherwise have a month or so if we were just doing this digital, because of the printing turnarounds for physical we needed to get this ready in the next few weeks and cue us now functioning like our collective asses are on fire. It's all good, though, and hopefully it will be cool!
In non-band life... Had to take one of my only non-band friends to the UCC (urgent care clinic), which was slightly scary. In lots of glitchy parallels, we've both not been having a great time, and she has literally no-one so I was happy to jump in the car and take her there to avoid any ambulance costs or whatever. Thankfully it just seems to be a viral infection but still sucks seeing her not doing so great at the min.
In terms of me, nothing exciting, but having the band to keep busy with again has been has been nice. Because otherwise, I really have zero motivation for pretty much anything right now. I didn't even do anything for Halloween. No movies, nuthin'! Technically, I totally forgot to put up my usual decorations at home, but by the time I realized I thought there wasn't even any point. I briefly wore the below plastic mask at work and that's as spoopy as I've got.
My only goal right now IRL is to just make it through to the holidays so I can just have a break, hide myself away, and vanish into the ether.
Lastly, thoughts to everyone on this Dia De Los Muertos. I'll be seeing my family today and will be lighting some candles at home. Amor para siempre x
